Barbara and Tom Costas, a husband and wife team, founded Jelly on my Belly. They met in 1997 while attending the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at STCC. Both graduated with an Associate Degrees in Medical Sonography in 1999.
Barbara has spent majority of her career performing ultrasounds in obstetrics and gynecology. She started in a high risk maternal fetal medicine department at Hartford Hospital. After many years in the hospital setting, she transitioned to a local Ob/Gyn practice. Barbara is highly regarded by her peers for her extensive experience and knowledge
After graduation, Tom began working at a small hospital that performed various types of ultrasounds. A few years later, he had the opportunity to manage a diagnostic imaging center for a large physician’s practice.
Tom then partnered with a local surgeon to open a vascular lab to support his practice. This was when the idea of opening a 3D ultrasound studio became more than just a thought.
